I had a beautiful room with amazing views and all the facilities I needed. the location was perfect, not too far from the old town with its restaurants and bars. It was super convenient for exploring the center and going up to the castles for some hikes. 🏰

Old hotel but adorable and in a romantic place. Eating a rich breakfast the sweet sound of a live harpa comes to your ears! Unforgetable!
The hotel needs technikal improvements and it is dificult to find it. But who cares about them as long as he visits Sintra?

The setting and the building are absolutely enchanting. Location is close to the old town center, and the staff is very friendly and helpful. Great if you are willing to have some surprises ...
... because maintenance is poor: no coat hangers in closet, adventurous plumbing, and when we returned to our room at night, the key would no longer open the door. We had to wait for the fire brigade to come and climb through the window to retrieve our luggage. Fortunately another room was available.

The surroundings and location, it is within walking distance of the center of Sintra. The breakfast served was good.
The access to the hotel limits the traveller to drive a sub-compact automobile. The room I stayed in was uninviting, dehumidifier and heater had cords all over the floor. The water pressure nonexistent, had to wait forever for the hot water to flow, the sink was clogged and drained poorly. The mattress had springs protruding and made the night uncomfortable. Having stayed in other hotels during my trip in Portugal I found the hotel overpriced compared to the ones I stayed in. If I return to Sintra, I would definitely look for other accommodations.

We didn't enjoy our stay. The hotel staff was not friendly and the room facilities poor. the bath-room dark and noisy for a pump that started every time the water was used.

It was very charming; an old villa with lots of character. Breakfast was excellent and was in a room with views of the garden and its menagerie of exotic birds.

The location & the garden of Quinta das Murtas are outstanding (Sintra town, large garden with pool, exotic birds, a small lake etc.). The main building is an old one and quite impresive.
We have booked 3 double rooms for three couples, at the standard price of Euro 75/room. Upon our arrival, the lady owner accomodated one couple of our group in the main building, and the other two in an old annex located down in the garden, in the garage area, where we found out two tiny old rooms, where the doors of the bathrooms have been impossible to close, the smell was awfull, the equipment old and dirty. The owner charged us the same price of Euro 75 for the rooms in the annex. Therefore, pay attention to the fraudulent presentation of Quinta das Murtas on the internet sites, because the lady owner has actually several rooms to rent in the main bulding, but also 8 rooms in the garden, in the parking area (at the same price!!!).
